Spoiler: The roles posted this week are the ones that can’t wait. Are you in or out?
🎉 Welcome to Get Her Hired's Excited to Share Newsletter! We're thrilled to bring you weekly job search strategies, data-driven tips, must-have skills, and advice to help you land your dream job. Let's get started!
🔥This Week’s Sizzling Job Search Strategy: Summer doesn’t slow your search. You do. Let’s change that.
Here we go again. Memorial Day hits, the sun comes out, and suddenly everyone becomes an HR analyst. The group chat’s full of “Might as well wait ‘til fall,” and LinkedIn slows to a scroll. Let’s be clear: that’s nonsense.
And if you’re using summer as a reason to slow down your job search, you’re not taking a break. You’re quiet-quitting your own potential. If you hit pause on your job search this summer because “things slow down,” you’re not taking a break. You’re giving your competition a head start. Let me say it plainly: summer hiring isn’t dead. It’s just quieter. Which means you’re more likely to stand out if you keep going.
Hiring doesn’t stop because of sunshine. It slows down because people believe it does—and vanish. The roles that go live in June and July? They’re urgent. Not fluff. Not filler. If a team is hiring now, they can’t wait.
Try This:
Follow the urgency: Target roles posted in the last 7–10 days.
Stay visible: Post one thing this week on LinkedIn that shows your expertise.
Reconnect with 3 humans: Old boss, former colleague, that recruiter who ghosted you? Say hi. Ask a question. Get back on their radar.
🔢This Week’s Data-Diva Tip: The Numbers Are Already There. Use Them.
At our career workshop this week with MN Aurora FC we saw the same thing we see with execs: people forget their own brilliance. They say things like “I just helped with…” But when we dig? They led, coordinated, increased, built. Your résumé isn’t about your role. It’s about your results.
Try This:
Make your “I Did That” List: What metric did I move? (Revenue, engagement, signups, attendance, etc.).
How many people did I influence, manage, train, or reach?
What changed because of me? Post one of those wins. If you don’t see your value, why should a hiring manager?

🪄This Week’s Perspective Shift: Have you Outgrown your Role?
What if “stuck” is just your nervous system refusing to tolerate mediocrity any longer? Let’s be honest: most people who say they’re stuck are high performers in low-return environments. You’ve hit the ceiling. Not of your talent, but of the room you’re in. You’re not lost. You’ve just outpaced your context. You’re over-delivering in a place that has nothing left to give you. Stop fixing yourself. Start fixing the room. Or walk out of it. Still not sure if you’ve outgrown your environment?
Try This:
If someone shadowed you for a week, would they say: “Wow, this person is perfect for this job!” or “Wait. Why is someone like you still in this job?” If it’s the second… the room isn’t worthy of your next move. PS: Watch our latest Undeniable Session on this Topic, featuring coach Julie Stoltman.
🤩This Week’s “Girl, thanks for telling me!” Topic: Your Résumé Isn’t the Problem. Your Boundaries Are.
Here’s a truth bomb for the week: You can’t rewrite your résumé into alignment if you’re still stuck in a role that breaks your values every day. You can wordsmith all you want. You can hire five résumé writers. But if you’re still exhausted, resentful, and shape-shifting for a paycheck, it’s not a résumé issue. It’s a YOU issue.
Try This:
Write one new bullet that reflects the role you want, not the one you have. Then ask: What would need to change for that bullet to be real?
