Is your job search like a song stuck in the wrong era?
If your search feels outdated, scattered, and invisible, this is for you.
One of the most common frustrations we hear from job seekers is: “I’m doing all the things: updating my resume, tweaking LinkedIn, sending applications, but I’m not getting anywhere.”
It feels like you’re pouring in effort but making no progress. That’s why so many people describe their job search as feeling out of sync… like a song stuck in the wrong era.
You’re showing up, you’re putting in the work, but the return? Nada. You’ve built programs, led teams, delivered results that made other people look good, and somehow the system still has the audacity to treat you like you’re invisible.
Here’s why:
Too much time on job boards. These are low-return activities. Job boards feel like the obvious place to start, but they rarely deliver the offers you’re hoping for.
Scattered effort. One day you’re fixing bullets on your resume, the next you’re doomscrolling LinkedIn, then you’re firing off 15 applications just to feel “productive.” Spoiler: busy ≠ strategic.
Invisible progress. You might actually be making moves, but without a way to measure traction, it feels like shouting into the void. Silence starts to feel like failure, even when it’s not.
That mismatch, between your actual talent and the traction you’re getting, is what leaves you frustrated, restless, and questioning if you’ve somehow screwed it all up. You haven’t. The game is rigged. But that doesn’t mean you can’t play it smarter.
Here’s the truth: you don’t need more late-night resume edits or another week glued to job boards. You need a job search that’s strategic, structured, and shows actual traction.
That’s why I built two tools to get you out of the mess and back in control:
1. Job Search Tracker (Excel) Your command center. No more sticky notes, random Google Docs, or trying to remember “did I follow up on that?” With it, you can:
Track every single application.
Log recruiter convos and networking leads.
See your progress at a glance (instead of wondering if you’re just screaming into the void).
2. F.I.N.D. Job Search Strategy (PDF) If the Tracker tells you what you’ve done, the F.I.N.D. framework tells you what actually matters. Here’s how your time should break down:
FIND (10%): Job boards. Yes, apply, but stop living there.
INQUIRE (30%): Build real relationships with recruiters. They need you as much as you need them.
NETWORK (50%): This is the gold. Conversations, referrals, intros. This is the “hidden job market” where real offers are hiding.
DREAM (10%): Target the companies you actually want. Even if they’re not hiring today, plant those seeds.
This is how you stop chasing every shiny thing and start moving with intention.
I’ll send you both tools for free. 👉 Just hit “reply” to this email and type STRATEGY.
