This Summer Plan Eats Applicant Tracking Systems for Breakfast
Land interviews before your sunscreen runs out.
🎉 Welcome to Get Her Hired's Excited to Share Newsletter! Every week, we drop job search strategies, data-backed tips, and must-have career tools that help you stop scrolling and start interviewing. Let’s go!.
☀️ Welcome to the Season of “New Job, Who Dis?”
Summer’s here. Your inbox is mostly out-of-office replies. And let’s be honest. If you don’t hit “refresh” on your career soon, you might start answering emails with nothing but “per my last existential crisis.” Good news: You don’t need a total life overhaul. You need a plan that actually works. So we made one.
🗓️ THE 12-WEEK SUMMER JOB SEARCH PLAN
Stop applying to jobs you don’t want (just because they’re there)
Build tools you’ll use 50 times, not once
Actually enjoy networking (or at least not dread it)
Land interviews by Labor Day, without rage-scrolling LinkedIn at midnight
This isn’t a vibe. It’s a system. Each week = one smart focus. Zero fluff. Maximum momentum. Want it? Reply with “Gimme the Plan” and we’ll hit your inbox with the goods.
Ready to move, but don’t know where to start? Book a call. Let’s build the roadmap that takes you out of “stuck” and into hell yes.
🌈 Celebrating Pride Month
Yes, we market to women. But our deeper mission? Writing scroll-stopping, door-opening, “Oh wow, we need to talk to this person” materials for everyone. At Get Her Hired:
Queer, trans, and nonbinary folks are welcome.
Neurodivergent brainiacs are welcome.
Career changers, comeback stories, and non-linear paths? Welcome.
Big ambition + soft skills? Welcome.
Perfectionists in recovery? Also welcome.
The only thing we don’t welcome: a-holes. Because we don’t write for robots. We write for people. And we’re proud of the wildly brilliant, diverse humans who trust us with their stories. We see you. We support you. And we want you to win.
🔢 Résumé Real Talk: Write It Like You’re Narrating the Netflix Doc About Your Promotion
Still working on that project? Doesn’t matter. If it’s meaningful, mention it. Employers hire forward motion. So if you're halfway through a big initiative, don’t wait until it's done. Frame it.
Try This:
“Launching [X] in [Q3 2025] to [make xyz impact]; beta complete, rollout underway”
“On track to increase [metric] by [18%] based on pilot results”
“Leading initiative to streamline operations across 4 departments with goal to [insert project KPIs]”
This isn’t fiction. It’s forecasting. Say it with confidence.
🧠 LinkedIn Fix: PTO Is Not a Personality
Our LinkedIn headline isn’t a dating bio. It’s a digital handshake. And if it says “Open to work | Wine enthusiast | Dog mom,” love that for you, AND you're underselling yourself on LinkedIn. We’ve got 220 characters to make someone stop scrolling and think, “We need to interview this person.” Use them.
Follow this formula
[Title You Have or Want] | [3 Keywords That Match Your Expertise] | [Bold Statement of Value]
For Example:
Chief Operating Officer | Enterprise Strategy, Executive Leadership, Scalable Business Systems | Building teams that move fast and fix what’s broken
Senior Marketing Leader | Branding, Content, Demand Generation | Driving standout growth with story + strategy
📆 Upcoming Event: Undeniable Session with Susan Cevette
You're Rewriting Your Story, Don’t Forget the Money Chapter Thursday, June 5. 11am CT
You’ve optimized your LinkedIn. Refreshed your résumé. Maybe even flirted with Canva.
But if your next big career move is riding shotgun with outdated money habits? We’ve got a problem.
Enter: Susan Cevette. Financial advisor. Wealth whisperer. Professional BS-cutter. This isn’t a budgeting workshop. This is a make-bold-moves-with-confidence-and-cash-strategy kind of session. We’ll cover:
Why your “play it safe” plan is costing you opportunities
How to price your work like a pro (not like it’s a favor)
What financial clarity actually looks like when you’re leveling up
Bonus: Susan isn’t some random talking head. She’s my financial advisor. I trust her (and her team at WatersEdge) with both my business and my “what if I moved to Portugal” money. If you’ve got questions about money, growth, or how to stop second-guessing every financial decision, this is the room to be in.
RSVP now. Bring your ambition. Leave your shame. And maybe grab a friend who also has 17 browser tabs open titled “salary transparency.”
🏁 TL;DR
Summer isn’t slow. It’s strategic. Want our 12-week job search plan? Reply “Gimme the Plan.”

Still working on that big win? Put it on your résumé. Frame it like the results are already in.
Your LinkedIn headline is not a dating profile. Say what you do, who you help, and why it matters in 220 characters.
